Vaccines are an important part of preventative health care for your cat. Some vaccines, such as rabies, can be required by law. Other vaccines are simply good common sense for the long-term health of your cat.

Does my indoor cat need to be vaccinated?

It is recommended that all cats be vaccinated. Your veterinarian will discuss with you which vaccines are necessarily based on your cat’s lifestyle.

What is FVRCP and core vaccine for cats?

The core vaccines that we give to cats are FVRCP and rabies. FVRCP is a combination vaccine that covers several diseases. FVR: Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, C: Calici Virus and P: Panleukopenia.

How often does my adult cat need vaccination?

At Acadia Veterinary Hospital, we recommend annual vaccinations for your adult cat. When you come for vaccines, a full physical examination is also performed by your veterinarian, which can help catch other problems early on.
