X-ray and Ultrasound

Non-invasive diagnostic tools used to identify internal issues and provide targeted medical care.

Here at Acadia Veterinary Hospital, we have x-rays and ultrasound services available to us and with our highly trained staff, we are able to perform a wide range of cutting-edge diagnostic testing.

How do you use x-ray and radiology services at your clinic?

X-rays provide valuable information about a pet’s bones, gastrointestinal tract (stomach, intestines, colon), respiratory tract (lungs), heart, and genitourinary system (bladder, prostate). Ultrasound can be used in addition to radiographs to help us further evaluate these systems. Ultrasonography allows us to non-invasively visualize, study and measure many internal structures using sound waves. We also offer pregnancy ultrasounds and ultrasounds of the thoracic cavity.

How do you prepare your dog for their x-ray appointment?

Most animals do not need any preparation for x-rays or ultrasounds, but sometimes, depending on the animal, a sedative is needed.

How much do dog x-ray examinations cost?
